Since 1965, BNU started to provide short-term and long-term language programs in Chinese Language for international students.
Currently, there are more than 1,000 international students from different countries studying Chinese language and culture in the university each term. The faculty at the College of Chinese language and culture consists of 53 permanent members, including 27 professors and associate professors. 68% of the faculty has doctoral degrees majoring in Chinese language, foreign languages, education, psychology, philosophy, history and finance. Being well equipped with advanced teaching facilities, CCLC is able to satisfy the different learning needs of international students. With a high quality of teaching, the College has received acclaim both nationally and internationally.
Beijing Normal University summer holds short-term Chinese classes during spring and summer holidays every year, please visit details at http://iso.bnu.edu.cn. If you would like to set-up a short-term language or culture class (no fewer than 15 people per class), please contact the International Student Office directly.
The short-term Chinese program also provides elective classes such as: calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, Tai Chi, martial arts, paper-cutting etc. A minimum of 20 people are required to start a class. The costs are 25 RMB/hour/person; these costs are not included in the tuition fees.
